Kay Bojesen

A silversmith and designer, Kay Bojesen became famous for creating wooden toys with an impish sense of humour. Working from a functional aesthetic, he created over 2,000 pieces but is best known for his cheeky and cheerful monkeys. Rather than creating lifelike copies of real animals, Bojesen chose to make imaginative toys that were simple, solid and inspired children to play. The Rosendahl Design Group were chosen by the Bojesen family to develop, manufacture and distribute their grandfather's popular designs, reintroducing several models based on Bojesen’s original drawings while respecting for Kay Bojesen's strict standards for materials and craftsmanship
