Ellie's Rug
Nordic Elements interior design studio and gallery in Blackrock has commissioned young Irish artist, Ellie Dunne (24), to design a special edition Kasthall wool rug.
Ellie, who has Down Syndrome, is a student of Fine Art at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin.
“At Nordic Elements we are big fans of Ellie’s work,” said Helle Moyna, founder of Nordic Elements, “and given she is such a talented colourist we thought she was the ideal person to work with Kasthall’s range of 1500 colours.”
“I worked first with the colours and then on the design of the rug,” says Ellie. “I love all the different pinks and the contrast with the bright blue.”
Nordic Elements has donated one of these special edition wool rugs, measuring 170 x 240cm and worth €2750, to the Together Academy and Down Syndrome Centre.
